When is an accident not an accident? When it's murder! Upon discovering widow, Eliza bone, floating bottom's up in her Oscar fish tank, the one clue the RCMP Sergeant Betty Bruce and her pot-bellied pig, Gertrude, have is a set of muddy gumboot tracks left at the scene. Their problem: everyone on Seal Island wears gumboots. When semi-retired Supreme Court Judge, Violet bone, arrives on the island for the funeral, she instinctively knows that there is something fishy about her sister-in-law's death. |

For a free preview of the first chapter, visit: http://issuu.com/runninglproductions/docs/gumbootsandgumshoes Note from the author: Gumboots, Gumshoes & Murder is the first novel in The Gumboot & Gumshoe Series. This is quite a departure from the world of young adult novels for which I'm known. I originally wrote the screenplay in 2009 and optioned it to Select Services Films in LA. With the return of the option and subsequent book rights in 2011, I just had to start work on the book. Betty, Gertrude, and Gertrude's friend, Peaches, were just too delicious to ignore. The planned sequels are The Dastardly Mr. Deeds and Murder Most Fowl. I'd like to thank the Rudd family of Nanaimo who allowed me to do a photo shoot with Penelope, their pot-bellied pig for the cover. If you enjoy a black comedy in the vein of Murder She Wrote or Fargo, then you will love Gumboots. You can purchase the book in print on Amazon or in ebook format via most on-line retail sites including Amazon Kindle store, Apple, Kobo, Diesel, Sony, and Smashwords.com. |
