The Holiday Series by Laura Hesse is a Walt Disney type of series geared towards all ages of horse lovers. One Frosty Christmas, The Great Pumpkin Ride, and A Filly Called Easter are Canadian best sellers. To date, Hesse's sales have topped 20,000 with ebooks now available for purchase in the Amazon Kindle store and other popular on-line bookstores such as Kobo, Apple and Diesel.

Laura's educational background includes technical diplomas in Forestry and Geological Engineering. For ten years, she worked as a Timber Cruiser and Firefighter in northern Alberta and Ontario; in fact, she was one of the first of two women to be hired to serve on a Helitack crew by the Alberta Forest Service back in 1982. Says Hesse, "When an outhouse became a luxury item, I knew it was time to quit!"

Hesse started her own desktop publishing and marketing company in 1992 which she still operates on a casual basis today, providing freelance writing and publicity services to celebrated artists such as Oprah O'List member, Ted Jolda, and equine artist, Joan Larson. She garnered front page coverage in her local newspaper for articles on Jolda and the world famous RCMP Musical Ride. She also teaches self-publishing courses and provides private consulting services for authors wishing to start their own company.

Hesse's publishing company, Running L Productions, is the fulfillment of a life long dream, one that has been with her since she was 16. She wrote her first novel, One Frosty Christmas, while recovering from major surgery in 2001. With the new release of Gumboots, Gumshoes & Murder, Hesse ended her four year hiatus away from fiction writing.
